Hebbal Lake is an excellent place to see the kingfishers. On Sunday, we saw quite a few White Throated Kingfishers, four Small Blue Kingfishers and a couple of Pied Kingfishers
Very Nice :) … I have small suggestion. It would be nice if u can increase the font size in all your photographs though you mention them in the blog. It would just make it easier to identify them with the right name… Wanted to mention this in your Manchinbele Part II but by that time u have posted the second one, both are informative and nice.
Thanks for the feedback. The two of us (S & N) are almost always in a disagreement regarding the font size :) If you move your mouse over the picture in the post, you should be able to see the name. Or alternatively you can view the medium size picture on flickr. Meanwhile, we will try to see if we can get a correct font for small size images.
As Tim commented, these photos are really provide good insight into beautiful India. I ve seen most of the photos.. very good composition and perfect exposure. This camera seems to be too good.. some of the photos have very sharp DOF. It would be very interesting to know tech. details.
All pics were taken at ISO100, f/3.7 at full zoom (420 mm) with shutter speeds ranging from 1/320s to 1/200s. All taken handheld in the Aperture Priority Mode and IS Mode 2 (JIT).
The DOF out-of-camera is honestly not great. The bokeh seen in pics posted is created using selective lens blur in PS2. The last KF pic illustrates the typical DOF (with the lens wide open). Others are indeed post-processed :)

Awesome…..King of Good times is awesome, seems to a royal gathering of good time.
Your photographs are truly exquisite! Thank you so much for sharing them and providing a window into India’s spectacular wildlife.
I found your blog by tag-surfing with the word “birding”, and I’m glad I finally learned how to do that. I’ll check back often.

Hi Alwan,
Thanks for the comment. When we are out actually watching these we always have a good time :)
Hi Tim,
Thanks :) It was a pleasure to get introduced to your blog. It would be very interesting to know about the local birds in America.
